Company / Our History

The Structure Group was formed in April 1998 as Structure Consulting Group, a business and IT consulting firm focused on the deregulated power space in the rapidly de-regulating western US markets. The firm was started with the objective of addressing a clear market need: experienced, delivery-focused consultancy, both process and systems, for energy organisations within the global deregulating energy markets.

With this objective in mind, Structure has expanded across North America and Europe and evolved into one of the industry leaders in delivering business and IT solutions to the energy industry. Structure expanded its operations to Europe in Q4 of 2000, initially working with US companies that were setting up operations in Europe.

Over the next 2-3 years Structure continued to grow rapidly in Europe despite the challenging environment brought about by the collapse of Enron, end of the dot.com boom and significant reduction in the UK wholesale power price (which at this early stage was Structure’s primary market in Europe). We feel that our ability to grow a consulting business in this challenging environment is testament to the strength of our offering.

Our Wholesale Energy Trading experience and reputation eventually led us to begin working in the Financial Services industry, as hedge funds moved to add Energy Trading to their portfolio. This move led Structure to initiate a Financial Services practice alongside the Energy and Utilities Practice and to strengthen the experience and skills in this industry.

Today Structure is a thriving consultancy working across the Energy, Utilities and Financial Services markets with a varied client base across Europe and the U.S. Structure have offerings from strategic consulting and organisational/process re-design through to systems integration and programme delivery.
